5-week and 8-week Online Programs
UH courses are generally 16 weeks in length (15 weeks at UH West Oʻahu), however, online programs may compress courses into shorter 5 or 8 week modules.
- Students enrolled in an online program with a 5-week format will finish one course every 5 weeks within a semester. Classes are offered one right after the other allowing students to fit 3 courses into a traditional length semester. This means students are able to concentrate on 1 class at a time. No more overlapping course requirements!
- Students enrolled in an online program with an 8-week format will finish courses every 8-weeks within a semester. Students will be able to select how many courses they will take each semester. Some programs are cohorted where students are required to take a certain number of courses each semester.
Both the 5- and 8- week course formats have the same learning outcomes as traditional semester length courses.
