This Interdisciplinary Studies BA in Oceania - Social Sciences is a fully online degree designed to offer you a deeper understanding of the lands, waters, cultures, and peoples of Oceania. Major required upper division courses span across seven departments in the College of Social Sciences at the University of Hawaiʻi - Mānoa, including Anthropology, Economics, Ethnic Studies, Geography and Environment, Political Science, Sociology, and Urban and Regional Planning.

Commonly known as the Pacific, Oceania is a region rich for learning about matters of global importance. This online degree program offers students interdisciplinary approaches to studying cultural, ecological, economic, and political flows of Oceania. It provides students training in social sciences approaches to issues of law, nationhood and governance; identity and inequality; resource management and development; and the movements of peoples and cultural forms. The courses in this program take the voices and lived experiences of Pacific Islanders seriously.

Graduates will be prepared to contribute to a rapidly developing world through online courses such as "Environment, Resources, and Society," "Indigenous Politics," "The Ocean Economy," and "Environmental Hazards and Community Resilience."
