Designed especially for working adults, the accelerated online AA degree is offered in 5 week segments. This program is flexible and focused. You’ll earn this online Associate in Arts degree in two-and-a-half years. And, if you choose to earn a bachelor’s degree, you can continue onto the new UH online bachelor programs.

This Interdisciplinary Studies BA in Oceania - Social Sciences is a fully online degree designed to offer you a deeper understanding of the lands, waters, cultures, and peoples of Oceania. Major required upper division courses span across seven departments in the College of Social Sciences at the University of Hawaiʻi - Mānoa, including Anthropology, Economics, Ethnic Studies, Geography and Environment, Political Science, Sociology, and Urban and Regional Planning.

Commonly known as the Pacific, Oceania is a region rich for learning about matters of global importance. This online degree program offers students interdisciplinary approaches to studying cultural, ecological, economic, and political flows of Oceania. It provides students training in social sciences approaches to issues of law, nationhood and governance; identity and inequality; resource management and development; and the movements of peoples and cultural forms. The courses in this program take the voices and lived experiences of Pacific Islanders seriously.

Graduates will be prepared to contribute to a rapidly developing world through online courses such as "Environment, Resources, and Society," "Indigenous Politics," "The Ocean Economy," and "Environmental Hazards and Community Resilience." The BSW Program prepares students to work with the most vulnerable in society. The curriculum provides an educational foundation of social work knowledge, values, and skills needed to alleviate human suffering, promote social justice, and realize individual and collective well-being. Graduates of the BSW Program become change agents and difference makers in their communities.

Courses are offered in a five-week, asynchronous format that allows for flexibility and busy schedules. Students take online courses sequentially as a cohort one class at a time, and practice real world skills under the supervision of social work professionals in community agencies.
