The August 2022 Newsletter is available! We, at the UH Online Innovation Center (UHOIC), are thrilled to welcome everyone to the Fall 2022 semester. We hope you have enjoyed a relaxing and rejuvenating Summer and are ready to charge ahead into what promises to be an exciting new Fall semester at the University of Hawaiʻi (UH). Our Summer in the UHOIC was a whirlwind of a journey with our 2022 UH Online Professional Development (UHOPD) cohort. However, this just means that there are more exciting things coming in this new semester with our growing team. Without spoiling too much, a couple of things on the horizon are our 2022 UH Excellence in Teaching Faculty Panel webinar and our ever-expanding H5P + Laulima Pilot program. Read about these exciting things and more in our August newsletter.
Our 2022 UH Online Professional Development (UHOPD) Accelerated and Early College cohorts are now entering Phase 3: UH Online Quality Course Design Review where the online courses they have developed during the PD course are being reviewed by designated system and campus instructional designers.
Faculty will work collaboratively with the IDs to complete course revisions in alignment with the UH Online Quality Course Design Review and will have additional time to implement any feedback into their courses before the scheduled release date.
We’re in the last stretch, 2022 UHOPD cohort! We are looking forward to supporting you during the course review process.
Our 2022 UHOPD Accelerated and Early College cohorts completed their first sync session earlier this week! Mahalo to the UHOPD alumni guest presenters (Anika Gearhart & Ann Abeshima) who shared strategies and tips with the accelerated cohort, and to the Early College high school coordinators and early college students who shared their experiences with the Early College cohort!
Another sync session will occur on Friday, when the cohorts will dive deeper into building empathy with students and much more!
As always, we always look forward to the connections and learnings that occur within the learning community throughout the PD!
The May 2022 Newsletter is available! In this issue, we included the highlights and survey summary from the 2022 UH Online Unconference and the H5P + Laulima Pilot program.
