Webinars (UHOIC-hosted)
UHOIC-hosted professional learning & development webinars have evolved into offerings that are driven by faculty and participant feedback and needs.
To improve the quality of online teaching & learning and inspire faculty across the UH system to increase student engagement and learning success, strategic webinar themes and topics are determined each semester based upon feedback collected from faculty and participant post-webinar surveys. Guest presenters (faculty and staff across the system from various disciplines) are invited to collaborate and share teaching examples and tips, and interactive strategies such as breakout rooms, polls, and games are utilized in the webinars. Topics such as building empathy, authentic learning, accessibility, inclusion, and equity have been covered.
During each webinar, we strive to include the following:
- Participant engagement and interactivity
- Faculty sharing with online teaching examples
- Research/Sharing of best practices and strategies (synchronous and/or asynchronous)
On each respective event page, keyword “tags” will be shown at the bottom of each webinar description, allowing participants to preview some of the key focuses that will be integrated into the current term’s offerings.
