UH ONLINE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Reimagining Online Learning
Applications are closed!
Welcome to the UH Online Professional Development (UHOPD) Program!
This award-winning, flagship professional development program launched in 2018 to support the University of Hawaiʻi’s desire to increase flexible opportunities for residents to earn a college degree while working and raising their families. Faculty interested in redesigning or developing a new course into an accelerated format or early college focus that aligns with quality standards are provided with instructional design support and opportunities to network and collaborate with peers.
Note: The “UH Online Professional Development Program: Reimagining Online Learning,” formerly known as “UH Online 5-Week PD,” has been renamed as a result of program expansion to include additional focus areas (e.g. 5 weeks, 8 weeks, Early College). The former UH Online 5-Week PD page (2018-2021 cohorts) has been relocated under the “Archived Programs” submenu.

Thank you again, this was such a great experience. All instructors should be taking this course!!!
Wow, I am thoroughly impressed with the level of organization of the online materials. I know that should be standard, but not all classes have presented such detail -- coming from a self-diagnosed OCD, it's appreciated.
This course has also reignited my passion for teaching. I was able to pick up new tools to add to my teaching "tool box". As a student, I was treated respectfully and I always felt that my opinions had value. I have seen a shift in my attitude towards my students because of my positive experience in the 5 week PD. I find myself reaching out more and taking opportunities to encourage my students. I'm sharing my experience so that you know how far reaching this course has been and how much your efforts are appreciated.
Thank you very much for all your detailed and helpful comments. I really appreciate all the time you've taken to review my course!
I really appreciate the time that you each took to help me get my course ready for the 5-week format. This went far beyond converting my course to a different format, it certainly helped me improve my teaching. You have each been so patient, pointing out what I need to do but always with kindness. You are truly teachers of teachers. 🙂
Mahalo for an awesome training. I learned so much and I am no longer intimidated by online teaching.
Thank you so much for your help and guidance throughout this entire process, you were such lifesavers!!
You all have done a top-notch job and are doing a fantastic service for the university!
